What makes the SOLO Series different from other UltraFlex power supplies?
The SOLO Series uses Direct Digital Step control with the latest SiC MOSFET transistor technology and patented digital control algorithms. This delivers faster dynamic response, higher efficiency, and a wider frequency range (3–400 kHz) in a compact 44 lb (20 kg) package — significantly lighter and smaller than traditional systems at comparable power levels.
What is the frequency range of the SOLO Series?
The SOLO Series covers 3 kHz to 400 kHz, depending on the heat station selected. The HS-32L handles 3–30 kHz for deep-penetration heating, the HS-32W covers 25–150 kHz for general purpose applications, and the HS-24W covers 64–160 kHz for surface heating and brazing. The system automatically tunes to the optimal frequency for your load.
Which heat stations are compatible with the SOLO?
Three water-cooled heat stations are available: HS-24W (64–160 kHz, 35 lbs), HS-32W (25–150 kHz, 44 lbs), and HS-32L (3–30 kHz, 44 lbs). Your choice depends on the required frequency range and application. Our application engineers can recommend the best combination for your process.
What are the electrical requirements?
The SOLO Series requires 3-phase power. Most models operate on 380/480V ±10% (50/60Hz). The SOLO 12 is the exception, operating on single-phase 230V ±10%, making it suitable for facilities without 3-phase power. Check the Specifications tab for the exact voltage requirement of each model.
What external control and integration options are available?
Standard on all SOLO models: 0–10V and 4–20mA external power control inputs, remote Start/Stop, USB port for firmware updates, and data logging. RS-485 with MODBUS protocol is available for integration with PLCs and SCADA systems, enabling remote control, monitoring, and process diagnostics.
Does the SOLO power supply require water cooling?
The power supply itself is air-cooled. However, the heat stations (HS-24W, HS-32W, HS-32L) are water-cooled and require a minimum flow of 2 GPM (8 L/min) with a maximum inlet water temperature of 95°F (35°C). See our water quality recommendations for detailed cooling specifications.
How many user programs does the SOLO support?
The SOLO Series supports multiple heating programs and profiles through its 5″ color LCD touchscreen control panel. Programs store complete heating parameters — power level, time, temperature limits, and ramp rates — allowing quick changeover between different applications with full automatic process control.
