Curing involves any process where heat is used to catalyze or initiate a chemical and molecular level structural change in a polymeric material such as epoxies, phenolics, polyesters, and silicones. These materials are applied to various base products for sealing, protective coating, insulation and other uses.

Curing involves any process where heat is used to catalyze or initiate a chemical and molecular level structural change in a polymeric material such as epoxies, phenolics, polyesters, and silicones. These materials are applied to various base products for sealing, protective coating, insulation and other uses. While base materials for induction are commonly conductive metals, non-conductive materials can be heated effectively by using a metal susceptor to precisely transfer the heat.

Induction curing / coating provides a significant improvement over typical curing methods, such as ovens, air curing, and hot fan curing. Air curing and hot fan curing provide inconsistent results, while ovens are impractical for small batch sizes. Induction heating solves both of these problems with a safe and clean solution, able to heat rapidly in only the desired heating zone. Induction Curing / Coating also enables one-piece flow on production lines, while eliminating loading and unloading into batch processed ovens.

Typical applications of Induction Curing / Coatings include: curing epoxies and other adhesive bonding materials; heating metal parts and assemblies prior to application of powder coat; and curing ink applied to metal, such as bottle caps and cans.
