dental induction casting

Objective
Make a wax or plastic model from STD files. Cast very thin 0.012″ and 0.016″ (0.3 mm and 0.4 mm) titanium dental implants.

Equipment: SuperCast D5

Materials: Titanium, Grade 5

Key Parameters Test – I

  • Power: 5 kW
  • Temperature: Approximately 3056°F (1680°C)
  • Time: 55 sec

Key Parameters Test – II

  • Power: 5 kW
  • Temperature: Approximately 3056°F (1680°C)
  • Time: 50 sec

Key Parameters Test – III

  • Power: 5 kW
  • Temperature: Approximately 3056°F (1680°C)
  • Time: 48 sec

Process:

  1. Make the plastic models with a 3D printer.
  2. Construct wax sprue system.
  3. Pour the investment according to the manufacturer instructions.
  4. Burn out the flask according to the manufacturer instructions.
  5. Melting the titanium with induction.
  6. Cast the dental implants.
