Carbide Recovery by Debrazing from Various Steel Fixture

Objective

The objective of this test was to debraze and recover the carbide tips off of various sized steel work pieces.

Test 1

Power: 4.7 kW
Temperature: 1500ºF (815ºC)
Time: 90 seconds

Test 2

Power: 4.7 kW
Temperature: 1500ºF (815ºC)
Time: 120 seconds

Results and Conclusions:

Test 1 was successful carbide was recovered after approximately 90 seconds.

Test 2 heated the entire edge of a saw piece, and after 120 seconds all of the carbides on the edges were able to be recovered.
