Common questions about the EasyCast J Series jewelry casting systems.
Is the melting power able to be regulated?
Yes. The EasyCast J provides full power regulation, allowing you to adjust the melting energy to match the specific metal and quantity being cast. This is essential for achieving consistent melt quality across different alloys — from gold and silver to platinum and palladium.
Do you provide Argon gas with each machine?
No. You will need to supply your own Argon gas and regulator. Argon is used during the casting process to create an inert atmosphere that prevents oxidation of reactive metals. Your local industrial gas supplier can provide the appropriate bottle and regulator setup.
Do both EasyCast J machines come with a vacuum pump?
No. The vacuum pump is a feature only on the EasyCast 12 model. The vacuum capability enables better fill of intricate mold details and helps remove gas porosity from castings. If your application requires vacuum-assisted casting, ensure you select the EasyCast 12 configuration.
Is there a special spacer for the Platinum crucible?
Yes. A dedicated spacer (pad) is available for the Platinum crucible to ensure correct positioning in the coil. Proper crucible alignment is important for uniform heating and consistent melt temperature. Contact our sales team when ordering Platinum crucibles to include the appropriate spacer.
How do I check the water system on an EasyCast machine?
Water system errors are often caused by insufficient water in the system or a water filter that needs cleaning. Check the water level in the reservoir, inspect the filter for debris, and verify the pump is operating. Refer to the maintenance section in your operator manual for the step-by-step procedure.
What is the minimum water flow requirement?
The minimum water flow requirement is 2 L/min (0.5 GPM) with a minimum differential pressure of 3 bar (45 PSI) and maximum input pressure of 6 bar (90 PSI). We recommend using deionized or distilled water to protect internal components. See our water quality recommendations for more details.
Can I cast Platinum with the EasyCast J?
